Proximity to lake
Tired/dated decor. Poor gym facility. Mediocre restaurant. Cleaning staff and equipment on corridor all day- should be less obtrusive.
Excellent accomodations, beautiful view, balcony that views the lake, short distance to shops and restaurants, clean room and bathroom, helpful staff.
I liked the location for easy access to may of the places I wanted to visit
I was slightly disappointed that I had requested a room with a lakeside view with balcony but there was a tree directly in front of our balcony which did obstruct the view somewhat
We love the fact that there are balconies that face the lake and great for taking pictures.
very well situated specially if you are handicap no hill to climb up like other hotel
friendly staff very polite the room are clean and pleasant to stay in. fantastic view of the lake and scenery very nice stay and would recommend to any one
Great location, well designed for easy parking to room access, good value for the money
Loved the location on the beach of Mirror Lake, love the location in the town of Lake Placid!!
Some of the rugs in the downstairs could have been cleaner.
booked a deluxe room on line which showed a picture of a fire place and a jaquezi tub stall see threw shower for 149. when we got to the room it had just two beds so i went back to the front desk and was told all rooms are deluxe and if i wanted the fire place and juquezi it would be 189. we stayed any way in the cheaper room but we believe we were misinformed by the ad and will be conacting management
The company and staff are focused on providing a quality experience for their visitors. The hotel's concern for environmental impact is also important.
The seven day cancellation policy. My son had a stomach flu at the beginning of our trip. We had to postpone our scheduled plans by a day and a half. When I tried to cancel 3 days in advance, I was told management would call me back to see if their policy could be broken but I was left with paying the full fee for the night even though we would be unable to come. Nobody called and we decided to cancel the other part of out trip and spend 2 nights at the Golden Arrow. When I booked the original reservation through Bookings.com, there was nothing about the cancellation policy until I read the printed out fine print. Please make sure your customers know about your stigent cancellation policy before they book.
Views spectacular! Room very comfortable and clean. Though the recycling bag was a great idea , and should be in all hotels
Location, great view on Mirrorlake.
Internet could be a bit better/faster.
The location, i.e. right on main street but backing onto the lake. The room was spacious, clean with a fantastic view.
The bed was not the most comfortable. A very minor inconvenience was that there was no facial tissues in the bathroom. Something even lesser hotels always have.
Nice location and if the weather had been better, would have enjoyed the room views and balcony.
The staff at the front desk was overwhelmed by a "few youth hockey teams in house" during our stay and the clerk at the front desk was rude and very unpleasant.
The cleanliness and general good condition of the building and room. Also all the help we encountered were very friendly and accommadating.
We had cold vegatables at the resturant but the watress promptly replaced them with hot items and expressed their concern.
The Golden Arrow offers a spectacular view on the Mirror lake (at least from the lobby and the lake facing rooms). You can jump into the lake at the hotel's private swimming and bathing area. Was a bit freezing in mid October, but I can imagine it is simply great in summer. Located in the town center you can easily access restaurants, bars and shops. The garage offers a safe and convenient car parking in all weather conditions.
